Gundam Wing : Episodes 31 - 36

04-06-01

That was... awesome. Absolutely awesome. I just finished tearing at the end of episode 36... and I have a feeling that I have a heck of a lot more tears to go through before I'm done watching this series.

New questions presented by episodes 31 - 36 and Comments: Where is Sally, I haven't seen "the Collector of Gundams" for a good six episodes, and in regards to Wufei, when he was fighting Zechs I saw a glimpse of the boy who would become "evil" in Endless Waltz. Because of the way he is, Wufei is never a truly "good guy" in the series either... (he just doesn't do anything overtly "bad".) Just like Trieze and Zechs are never truly "bad guys". Unfortunately it puts all three of them on the same boat together. Oh, and those damned doctors (Dr. J, etc.) where are they anyway?

Some Random Notes before I get to the Summary... this is most definitely a guy anime. I can tell by the posing of Gundams. You know, right before a gundam attacks, it poses so all guys present can elaborate up on why it's the coolest machine ever. :D I personally like the Epyon the best, construction wise that thing just looks freaken COOL and it's the only machine that Heero is truly afraid of. He pilots it anyway, but sits there and goes "Stop it Epyon, stop it Eypon!" while doing so. :D Yes the fact that HEERO is afraid of it makes that suit all that more evil.

Anyway, important things... I have and incredible amount of respect for Relena. An incredible amount. She has taken over as the head of state for her country at the beginning... the Sanc Kingdom (think United Kingdom) and has been promoting "Total Pacifism" world wide. Which is why there is trouble... this doesn't sit well with Romafeller, which is the organization that is currently attempting to take over the world and has already taken over all of the colonies. Anyway, the problem with the Sanc Kingdom is simple... they AREN'T under Romafeller's power, and they don't have a military because of their policies. So basically Relena has this country that is a HUGE thorn in Romafeller's side because they sit they and tell people not to fight while Romafeller is attempting to take over the world. IE -- Sitting duck.

So Noin (I have a huge amount of respect for Noin as well) is presently the advisor to Relena... she's acting as a royal guard to the throne, me thinks. I'm fairly sure it's because of Zechs too. Anywho, because Noin's a Military brat *lol*, she sees the problem with the Sanc Kingdom, even though she supports their ideals. So she recruits Heero and Quatre, who have presently landed on Earth to come visit.

So the two boys get placed into Relena's school were they are taught total pacifism, and there are some cute scenes between Heero and Relena. (The first one, Relena sits down on a park bench besides Heero and attempts to start a conversation until DOROTHY (kill, kill) shows up and interrupts, and the second one Relena yells up at Heero not to go anywhere until she returns. Quatre just looks at Heero with a wide-eyed expression that I found *incredibly* funny, and Heero just kinda nods.)

In space, at the same time, Duo is hiding out on a colony with his friend Hilde (who for all sakes and purposes IS his girlfriend as far as I can see,) but anyway, he's on the colony with the girl and this guy named Trent has gotten his hands on the Gundam Zero. Now the Gundam Zero is evil because of the fact it makes pilots hallucinate and blow up everything, so he kidnaps Duo and manipulates Duo into piloting it. Duo escapes and gets into Deathscythe Hell (which is an absolutely *awesome* Gundam) and Trent gets into Zero and there is a show down. I got the general impression that Trent dies, and Wing Zero is set adrift in space.

At the same time back on earth, Heero has run off and found Trieze (unfortunately) and there is much sticking of guns in each other's faces (this is the only part I didn't understand really) and big words. Perhaps something was lost in the translation, but in the end Trieze gives Heero the Epyon. Now apparently Trieze has managed to make the Epyon in his free time in exile, I don't know. Unfortunately the Epyon is EVIL, much like the Zero system it makes Heero go berserk for a bit and blow up a lot of things. Heero treks back to the Sanc Kingdom with it anyway.

Back in space Zechs gets his hands on the Gundam Zero, so now Zechs has it. (*lol* Several people own it before it gets to Heero!!) Speaking of which Zechs is riding about on board of the Peacemillion, which is this really neat looking spaceship run by Howard. Howard is the one who repairs Gundams, and he appears to work separate from the other doctors, which makes me like him a little more than the others. >_<

At the same time Wufei's colony goes up in smoke, which had to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life!! *Rants a bit* Wufei is "happily" (that guy can never be happy about anything, I swear) practicing on his colony, and then Romafeller decides to attack it. So Wufei takes off into space with Altron Gundam and Master Long (the old guy) sprouts some stuff about Integrity and such when fighting, etc, etc, and promptly blows up the colony!!! How dumb is that???!! THOUSANDS of people were just sacrificed so that you could... what? Make Wufei the only one of his kind left???? For crying out loud, even if the colony was attacked, more of it would have survived than none of it!!! THAT WAS SO DUMB!!!! *rants, rants* Anywho, so Wufei goes a little psycho (no kidding, eh?) and destroys all of the troops round about. And then Zechs hears about this, and Zechs now just wants to be friends with the Gundam pilots against Romafeller and goes off to find Wufei. Unfortunately he's approaching the wrong Gundam pilot because Wufei fights by himself and he really couldn't care less about anyone else. So there is a small showdown in-between Zechs in Wing Zero and Wufei... Wufei grounds out that he doesn't like traitors and takes off again on Zechs, and meanwhile Zechs is recovering from the effects of the Zero system, because he wasn't prepared for it to make his hallucinate.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch... I mean the circus, Cathrine has found Trowa with no memories attached. So the circus takes him in again. Quatre has trekked into the middle of the desert because Noin informed him that the Maginaughts(??... his friends with the hats) have repaired the Sandrock. So Quatre shows up and saves the day, and everyone is happy. :D
Then up on a colony Hilde drags Duo off, (literally) to do something "fun". They end up doing to the circus where Trowa comes out to perform, and Hilde ends up drooling over Trowa. (*lol* Hilde: "I could really fall for that guy!!" Duo *hands behind his head, pretending not to care*: "Yeah, whatever Hilde.") Then Duo recognizes Trowa and after the act, finds him and bombards him with questions. Trowa though, just looks frightened and doesn't say anything, because he doesn't remember who Duo is. (the last time Duo saw Trowa was when he was pretending to be a bad guy and dragged Heero off to perform a mission with him... which may be why Duo asked Trowa how Heero was.) Cathrine proceeds to wrap her arms protectively around Trowa and tell Duo to get lost, he doesn't remember.

So then we get to the traumatic part. It is episode 36... which is entitled "Sanc Kingdom's Collapse"... it gives a lot away. >_< Romafeller has completed building up a military force around the Sanc Kingdom and has now decided to attack it. Noin does her last respects to Relena, salutes and takes off. Both Heero in the Epyon (who he's still fighting for control over) and Noin in one of those cool white colored space Taurus' and a few other stragglers set off to fight the invading forces... they are hopelessly out numbered. They fight as well as they can though. At the same time Dorothy shows up where Relena is helplessly watching her Kingdom fall to gloat about the fact that a war is happening in the kingdom that supported total pacifism. I half expected Relena to turn around and deck Dorothy. Except she's not like that... instead she tells her that she doesn't feel like listening to her right now, thank you. Which just makes Dorothy gloat more in that same sweet and ever polite voice that just makes you want to scream. >_< At the same time the battle rages on and Noin goes down... but they are in luck because Quatre returns with Sandrock and all of his friends. :D The battle is still a lost cause though... even with two Gundams... there are just too many mobile dolls. The battle begins to go into the city.

Relena sees the fact that the city is under siege, she makes a last ditch attempt to save both it and the ideals she stands behind. She surrenders herself to the Romafeller foundation. At the same time "Rhythm Emotion" starts to play in the background... and when the plane escorts Relena off and leaves her country to fall under Romafeller's control tears came to my eyes. She is now a political prisoner of war, her country is lost, there *is* no more total pacifism... the whole situation looks very bleak. I didn't cry for that though... I think I cried for Relena. She isn't very much like a girl at all, she is a very strong individual in her own way, and to be able to do all that she had done is where I find my incredible respect for her.

I like this series. :D I may even like it better than X-Files presently. O_o *lol* Okay, that's it.
